Welcome to Riverton Rose trail

Thanks for dropping in. This site is dedicated to telling the History of Riverton Rose Trail Alabama. I could not have created this website without some amazing people providing me content. Howard (son) Tanner is the amazing man that originally inspired me as a kid with all of his great stories about growing up in Riverton.  

Ray L. Hays wrote two books and provided a lot of the content for this website. I could spend hours talking to him about Riverton. 

Freda S. Daily is another amazing woman that provided a lot of content. She also wrote a book on the history of Riverton Rose Trail. 

Ed Vengrouski, who is in the process of writing a book about the history of Riverton provided a lot of content. His great grandfather was Thomas Spencer who built and operated the most grand hotel in Riverton called the Spencer Hotel. He also operated the first ferry from Riverton to Waterloo. 

There are many others who have contributed to this website or articles that I have found on facebook and the internet. We will continue updating the site as we do more research. Please contact us if you have a story our facts that you would like to share and we will add it to the website.
